2. Scope
This policy explains how we process personal data when you browse vanture.si, submit a booking request, email us, or otherwise interact with Vanture services.
3. Data we collect
We may process: identity and contact details (name, email, phone); booking details (pickup/return dates, travelers, extras, trip notes); communication content; technical data needed to run the site (such as language preference); and your cookie consent choice (accept or decline).
4. Sources of data
We mainly receive data directly from you via forms, email, or phone. Technical and consent data may be generated by your browser when you use the site.
5. Purposes of processing
We process data to: handle booking enquiries and rentals; communicate about your trip; prepare the vehicle and extras; manage deposits, invoicing, and accounting; handle claims, damage, or fines; improve site security and reliability; and comply with legal obligations.
6. Legal bases
Depending on the case, we rely on: performance of a contract or steps prior to a contract (booking/rental); legitimate interests (site security, responding to general enquiries, defending legal claims); consent (optional cookies, where required); and legal obligations (tax, accounting, traffic or insurance documentation).
7. Recipients
We do not sell personal data. We may share data with: IT and email providers that host or send messages for us; insurers, roadside assistance, or repair partners when needed for an incident; payment or banking providers if used for deposits/payments; and authorities when legally required.
8. International transfers
If a provider processes data outside the EEA, we use appropriate safeguards required by GDPR (such as standard contractual clauses) where applicable.
9. Retention
Booking and contractual data are kept for the rental period and as long as needed for claims, accounting, and statutory retention (typically up to the periods required by Slovenian law). Enquiry messages without a confirmed rental are kept only as long as needed to respond. Cookie consent records are kept until you change them or they are no longer needed.
10. Your rights
Under GDPR you may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction, data portability, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw consent at any time without affecting prior lawful processing. You may lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner of the Republic of Slovenia (IP) or another competent supervisory authority.
11. Cookies
We show a cookie banner with Accept and Decline. Declining limits us to necessary storage (for example language preference, basic site function, and remembering your choice). Accepting allows optional cookies if we enable them to improve experience. You can change your mind by clearing site data in your browser and revisiting the site.
12. Security
We apply reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against unauthorised access, loss, or misuse. No online transmission is completely secure; please use care when sending sensitive information.
13. Children
Our services are aimed at adults capable of entering a rental contract. We do not knowingly collect data from children for marketing purposes.
14. Changes
We may update this policy to reflect legal, technical, or business changes. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Significant changes may also be communicated on the website.
